Soto's Premium All-In-One House Paint is designed for both interior and exterior use. However, there are several things about the outside that are difficult if not impossible to control, including the weather. Because humidity makes it take longer for things to dry, this is a big factor to consider when painting outside.
As with any painting project, you will want to start with a clean, dry surface. This is especially important when painting out-of-doors, since it is more likely for dust and dirt to be on your surfaces, and since humidity is harder to control or mitigate outside than inside. In conditions of high humidity, it will take longer for the surface to dry after cleaning, and it will also take longer for the paint to dry. We recommend painting only when the humidity level is below 50%, and when the temperature is not excessively hot or excessively cold.
The paint will typically be dry to the touch in about 30-60 minutes, but we typically recommend the dry time between coats to be 2-4 hours, which is generally adequate for interior painting. Because exterior conditions can be harder to control, dry times can vary much more significantly.
Cure times can also be affected by the temperature and humidity of outdoors. The final coat should adequately cure before being exposed to excess moisture. Typically it takes about 3-4 weeks for the paint to fully cure, however, in higher-moisture conditions it may take more time.
Please consider your climate and local weather forecast before painting outdoors. Make sure the paint will have adequate time to dry before being exposed to rain or other precipitation, and/or excessive humidity, heat, or cold.
